The Stogies Announce Sophmore Album "hOOT" & Canadian TouR!

(Halifax, NS) The Stogies have announced the release of their sophomore album “HOOT” available in Canada October 7, 2014. This is the second release from the band following their 2011 EP “No Couth, No Class, No Nothin’ “.In March 2014, The Stogies arranged and recorded 11 new tracks with producer, Jon Landry of Canadian rock group The Stanfields and 2014 ECMA and Music Nova Scotia Award nominated recording engineer, Erien Eady Ward at CodaPop Studios in Halifax. The album was mixed at the Sonic Temple by Darren Van Niekerk (Matt Mays, Matt Andersen, Hey Rosetta!) and sent off to John Baldwin (Deer Tick, Rolling Stones, White Stripes) to be mastered in Nashville TN. “Working with Mr. Landry was a game changer. He worked us to the bone, but we were able to capture our best live performances and arrangements of the new material” explains guitarist, Dave Driscoll.

The Stogies released the first track and video from “Gift Horse” from the new album in August 2014, which reached the #1 spot on the !Earshot Online Top 30 Charts for Frdericton’s CHSR 97.9FM. The album will be available in various digital formats and on CD in select outlets across Canada and can be pre-ordered from the band’s website. The Stogies will be heading back on the road in October with tour dates spanning across eastern Canada, including two showcases at Indie Week Canada in Toronto, ON.
