(Jan 13, 2017 - Halifax) Folk Alliance International presents the nominees for The 2016 International Folk Music Awards for Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. SpinCount congratulates clients KAIA KATER, THE ONCE AND IRISH MYTHEN on their nominations. SpinCount clients were nominated in each category - Album of the Year - KAIA KATER ‘Nine Pin’ Song of the Year - THE ONCE ‘We Are Love’ Artist of the Year - IRISH MYTHEN SpinCount handled Canadian radio promotions for Kaia Kater, National PR and radio promotions for The Once and National radio and PR for Irish Mythen. Finalists for the awards were compiled from "best of 2016" radio and print media lists in the US, Canada, the UK, EU, and Australia in addition to the year-end Folk DJ chart. Winners will be announced during the International Folk Music Awards show held at 6pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. All registered conference delegates are invited to attend. The Awards show will also include the presentation of the annual Lifetime Achievement Awards, the Spirit of Folk Awards, the inaugural People's Voice Award (to be received by Bruce Cockburn), and the eponymous Clearwater Award, as well as inductions into the Folk DJ Hall of Fame.
