“In addition to the ECMA hat-trick, the company has also been recognized with multiple honours from Music Nova Scotia and received ECMA nods for music merchant of the year in 2010, 2013 and 2014.” - LighthouseNOW
[May 23, 2018 - HALIFAX] The 2018 East Coast Music Awards took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 2-6, 2018 and SpinCount was awarded an ECMA for 2018 Company of the Year, handing the Nova Scotia boutique promotions and publicity company the honor for the third year in a row - a “hat-trick” for the company. According to ECMA artist and member relations manager Tara MacDonald, this is the first time in ECMA history a company has been awarded this honor for three years running “there is no precedent other than what SpinCount set in this category for 2016, 2017 and 2018.”
Company founder Kimberly Sinclair and partner, Kevin Sinclair thank the East Coast Music Association and its membership for this prestigious honor and congratulate our clients Mo Kenney and Joel Plaskett on their ECMA awards for Solo Recording of the Year: Mo Kenney - The Details; and Songwriter of the Year: Joel Plaskett.
SpinCount has built its success on hard work, dedication to their clients and their career goals, and a deep commitment to Canadian music. Moreover, the company pioneered the use of “new media” (social media platforms, internet music outlets, digital music delivery) from early on, and led the way as the industry adapted to new technologies and social mores.
"The music industry is a very dynamic world, based on novelty and innovation while respecting its cultural roots,” says Sinclair, “These changes in technology have democratized the industry in many ways, allowing the individual artists to perform for themselves many of the tasks and functions that formerly needed outside professionals, including using platforms like YouTube and Spotify to get their music out, and keeping in touch with their fan-base through social media. Our task is to maximize these new technologies while assisting the client to craft a strategy that will help them attain their creative and professional goals."
