Sorrey delivers an unapologetic reminder of how the heart pulses strongly during our fading romances. The Prince Edward Island-based band, led by songwriter and guitarist Emilee Sorrey, performs dreamlike pop music featuring direct-to-the-heart lyricism that never loses conviction. The band has been consistently touring and releasing music since their debut EP Thick as Thieves was released and nominated for five 2016 Music PEI Awards, including SOCAN Songwriter of the Year for the track ‘Washington’, winning Pop/Urban Album of the Year. The EP was also nominated for a 2016 East Coast Music Award for Pop Album of the Year.
Sorrey’s debut full-length album will be released on Garment District Records in the fall of 2019.
PEI’s Golden Ticket Program
Sorrey’s single release is part of Music PEI’s Golden Ticket program. The Golden Ticket Program was developed by Music PEI to assist emerging artists to record and release a single. The program team includes a selected studio and producer for each artist, publicity by SpinCount and the program is managed by John MacPhee (Paper Lions). Program elements include producing the track, developing a marketing plan, registering with all PRO’s, uploading to digital platforms, creating lyric videos and radio tracking along with professional development training.
