![]() About Museum Pieces new album, PLAIN SIGHT, Matt Mays may have put it best on his Instagram when he wrote this: I crawled around half of the 6th arrondissement on my hands and knees today looking for a little rubber piece that fell off my headphones so I could listen to a record by my (hands down) favorite band’s new record. Tyler’s songs make rain slow down a bit and flowers blossom a little harder. Every song makes me sigh and high with relief. Let it in. @tymessick https://www.instagram.com/p/Bi2Hs22HOEO/?taken-by=mattmaysmusic And he is not alone, here are more quotes, from Rose Cousins, Win Butler (Arcade Fire) and more.... Magazine Troubadour Rock-Songwriter Tyler Messick wants you to know he’s back - The Coast, Halifax Stately folk pop - Magnet Magazine #71 Tyler Messick fills the number with boundless soul, as if it’s the culmination of an epic, troubled love story. There’s enough heart here to represent a young man’s whole lifetime, the better and the worse, and enough guitar, too. He sounds as if he grew up with these chords, just waiting for the chance. And he kills it. - Sean Michaels, Said the Gramaphone - From the Globe and Mail, October 2016 STREAM via spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/album/2ppdvew30YQh62VHL3yLmY ABOUT THE ALBUM “PLAIN SIGHT” is a rock record – there is a very American feel because Tyler Messick was born and raised outside Philadelphia before making Nova Scotia his home. You will hear a Dylanized pysch-rock sound which maybe proves, given the dope music Kurt Vile et al are making out of the same region – that there is something special in that sonic airspace (remember that “World Café” has been produced out of Philly for almost 30 years). Nick Lowe’s precision pop writing is another inspiration – check out: “To Meet in Dreams” and “Keys to the Castle.” To stylistically cap it off there are a few electrified Trad. inflected tracks in which the unique personality of the band shines through (“Elvin Tower” and “Death is not a Destination”). Also Sounds like: Sufjan Stevens, Beck, Tom Petty, Fairport Convention PLAIN SIGHT TRACKS - (May 11, 2018) 01 Salesman 4:06 02 Color of Jade 2:53 03 To Meet in Dreams 3:03 04 Fool 4 U 4:47 05n Keys to the Castle 3:19 06 Bittersweet Sunsets 2:53 07 Hitchhiking with Your Photograph 3:02 08 Messenger 3:13 09 Elvin Tower 3:02 10 Letting Your Body Down 2:38 11 Death is Not a Destination 3:09 12 4AM 4:19 ALL TRACKS WRITTEN, COMPOSED & PRODUCED BY TYLER MESSICK - 100% CANCON TYLER MESSICK BIO Tyler Messick is the writer / performer behind Museum Pieces.
