Borealis Trail - Northeastern SK / Northwestern MB Oct 15-27, 2019: Nov 9-22, 2019: Jan 26-Feb 8, 2020: Feb 25-Mar 8, 2020: March 25-Apr 6, 2020: Apr 23-May 6, 2020: About Guillaume Jabbour and Bill Gossage Guillaume Jabbour and Bill Gossage are members of chansonnier roots band, Jabbour, as well as Quebec Cajun band, Les Flâneurs. Performing as a duo, they bridge gaps and draw parallels between the musical genres that inspire their own songwriting. From Guillaume Jabbour’s roots in chansonnier music from Québec and France to Bill Gossage’s musical culture that draws upon deep roots in the Irish fiddle vernacular, this is a contemporary roots duo. Audiences can expect to hear original compositions from the bands they play in (the majority of which are in french but banter is in english when necessary), Cajun classics, chansons from Quebec and France's chansonnier era, and a few Irish fiddle tunes. Dramatic waltzes, toe-tapping two-steps, jigs and reels... a guaranteed good time! A little more about us... Born from a french Canadian mother and a Palestinian father and raised in Lachute, QC, Guillaume Jabbour fronts original music band Jabbour and provides guitar and vocal accompaniment in other musical projects, such as Montreal Cajun band, Les Flâneurs. He credits his bi-ethnic childhood home for the development of his musical tastes and songwriting abilities. He has toured throughout Canada, is an award-winning songwriter and was artist-in-residence at the Maison Félix Leclerc. He recently moved back home to the Laurentians where he spends his time writing, composing, researching, jamming with his two kids and enjoying family life with his incredibly talented and patient wife. Bill Gossage learned to play fiddle from his grandmother who played Irish and Québécois fiddle in the style of Jean Carignan. His family is well known in the folk music community and he himself is a well-established and respected jazz bassist who has accompanied such Montreal greats as Susie Arioli and Jordan Officer. He has toured extensively across Canada, especially with the children's musical theatre company La Montagne Secrète. Bill spends his free time driving roads less travelled and making his own cross-country ski tracks in the winter.
