Acclaimed songwriter, composer and producer Erin Costelo releases ‘Low’ from her award winning album, Down Below, The Status Quo, across Canada and announces October 2017 Ontario dates, with key showcasing events before shows in London, Ottawa and Montreal.
‘Low’ is the follow up release to “Fighter” and “Worry Don’t Weigh Me Down” which both received International airplay, and landed Costelo’s album on earshot’s National Top 200 of 2016 airplay chart, a 2017 ECMA for R&B Soul Album of the Year, and a total of 12 East Coast award nominations. Low is a protest song, “About pondering the current state of the world and wondering how we can be in this position. Have we not learned our lessons?”
Down Below the Status Quo was runner up for Folk Music Ontario’s 2017 Recording of the Year Award, sponsored by ACTRA RACS (Recording Artists’ Collecting Society), which recognises the overall artistic performance of a recording artist in the Folk/Roots/Blues genre. At this year’s Folk Music Ontario conference Erin has been selected to officially showcase. Erin has also been selected to showcase at the 48th Annual OSAC Conference, Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils in Regina, SK.
