Soundpark Studios Announces Master Class for Songwriters with Guest Steven MacDougall - August 30 and 31
Cape Breton’s Multi ECMA Award winning Soundpark Studios announces its third Soundpark Songwriting Session will take place the weekend of August 30-31, 2014.
The Soundpark Songwriting Sessions are a series of Master Classes in Songwriting and Demo Production. The sessions take place at Soundpark Studios in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
These Master Classes are facilitated by Award winning Producer/Recording Engineer, Jamie Foulds along with a guest songwriter. This session’s guest songwriter is Steven MacDougall. MacDougall is a talented and prolific artist, well-known as the frontman and principal songwriter for Slowcoaster, as well as for his solo work. He travels frequently to Nashville and other music capitals collaborating with the likes of Gordie Sampson, Jimmy Rankin, George Canyon, and Patricia Conroy.
The two day Master Class will give participants a solid introduction to the concept of co-writing and demo production. Participants are placed into groups of three and receive coach them through the co-writing process. Participants also get a hands on workshop in demo production techniques. This teaches them the basics of how to make better, more effective demo recordings of their songs at home in order to really sell them!

Dana Beeler Announces Western Canada #SoloYolo Tour!
After 4 years of playing The East Coast, Dana is hitting the road to play a string of dates across the Country.
Dana Beeler is an alternative country, singer-songwriter from Hant’s County, Nova Scotia. Since moving to Halifax, Dana has become a regular at many of the local performing centers, including, The Company House, The Carleton, Casino Nova Scotia, and The Seahorse Tavern. Dana has showcased at East Coast Music Week, North by Northeast, PEI’s Festival of Small Halls, In the Dead of Winter festival, NS Music Week, The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and now is taking her music out West for the first time!
Her debut album, "The Long Goodbye" was nominated for Country Album of the Year at the 2013 Nova Scotia Music Week. And was awarded GOLD in the 2014 "The Coast's Best of Halifax- music edition" Country Artist in Halifax. Dana returns to The Gordie Sampson songcamp for the third year in a row, to assist in the mentoring process and collaborate with songwriters, such as Gordie Sampson, Steven MacDougall, Mo Kenney and more.
When describing Dana its been said: “There is an old soul in that young body” and nothing could be more true. Dana has been performing and writing her own music for many years. Her young age hides a seasoned musician who knows how to please an audience, understands what makes a good song great and is dedicated to leaving you loving her at the end of every show.
