Over four days and three nights of the conference, 750 delegates will hear provocative speakers, engage in lively round-table discussions and private meetings with industry professionals, and interact with panelists during educational seminars and workshops.
A vital mission of the conference is to facilitate folk musicians and businesses in accessing new markets in Canada and the USA through the Export Development Program (EDP), bringing more than 30 delegates (festival art directors, presenters, agents, publicists, etc.) to the FMO conference this year.
But above all else, the conference is about the music. Every year, Folk Music Ontario offers musicians an opportunity to showcase their unique talents. This year, there will be 36 Official Showcases, two Family Showcases, and a Youth Showcase featuring participants in the Youth Program. The conference schedule is rounded out by numerous Sponsored Showcases and Private Showcases – all part of the official activities of the annual conference.
Please visit Folk Music Ontario online for the full list of showcasing artists and schedule or the event on facebook here.
Folk Music Ontario supports the growth and development of folk music in Ontario by supporting the growth and development of presenters and performers. Follow Folk Music Ontario on twitter or on facebook.
